I obsess over the weekly trends in marketing, filter the noise, and engineer solutions for competitive sustainability.
Are you sick of hearing about AI? I know I sure am. I get sick of shoveling snow too. Yet both seem to just keep coming. In 2026 AI is an avalanche that gets faster as it moves UP hill. And it has buried the pipeline of traditional Search Engine Marketing. Solutions require persistent attention, agility, and creativity applied to the craft of designing systems as much as stopping the scroll.
My newsletter, "AI Killed the Video Star," is where I share solutions for modern marketing pain points.
Most of my work is strategically motivated and data-driven. The ability to better leverage mountains of messy data is more within reach than ever, and more important than ever to staying competitive. Here I publish actionable strategies and workflows you can use in your business.
I started making videos in high school and never stopped. Sometimes I even get paid for it.
My first job in content marketing was focused on developing business within the indie film scenes of major cities, because broadband was making it possible for the first time to share video files online. Now AI is making video creation capabilities accessible to a wider range of teams than ever. This site is dedicated to featuring some of the videos I've had a hand in making.
AI tools make video podcasts the most cost-effective form of organic media for small to medium businesses — a production hub around which social production revolves.
AccelPro IP Law — This video podcast feature episode showcases some of AccelPro's best interviews combining their commentary on the subject of "AI & Copyright." Jay produced hundreds of podcasts for AccelPro (Kaplan) featuring expert attorneys on a variety of subjects. For this special episode, Jay created a digest featuring a curated group of guests all speaking about where AI and copyright law meet.
AccelPro Employment Law — How we transformed a Zoom meeting into a live webinar, video podcast & social posts. The full repurposing workflow from raw recording to polished, multi-format deliverable.
Another opportunity to leverage video in legal storytelling is the video case study format like this one.
How AI helped DecksDirect transcend static ads and launch professional video creative in-house — fast, affordably, and scalably.
This wasn't just a holiday campaign — it was the launch of a scalable, repeatable system for video-first marketing. By blending AI avatars, licensed footage, and self-produced owned video, we eliminated expenses for actors, locations, and crews while achieving professional polish without compromising brand standards.

Why force your TOFU audience to seek out your customer reviews when you can leverage them to boost CTR & lower CAC? Jay built a system for Earth Animal and Get Joy that turns existing product assets and customer reviews into a scaled library of breed-personalized video ads.
Jay took Earth Animal's existing holiday product image assets, deconstructed them, then animated them into a series of videos in different formats leveraging variations in featured dog breeds for more personalized algorithmic strategy.
Likewise, Jay took Get Joy's existing product image assets, deconstructed them, then animated them into a series of videos leveraging variations in featured dog breeds. These leverage customer reviews animated onscreen — multiplying assets, publishing frequency, and reach.
Deep fake avatars are lame. Do this instead.
Former Pandora exec Lars Murray has created successful products, promotions and businesses for Columbia Records, Sony Music, Virgin, Red Bull, Spotify, Apple, YouTube, Universal, Daft Punk, Pharrell Williams, Gorillaz, and many more.
Instead of attempting to fool audiences with a deep fake, Jay's team used Runway's Act One to create artfully rendered avatars — engaging the established audience while attracting new members, and preserving the authenticity of Lars' real human presence.
Workflow: AI image render → Green screen trainer → Runway Act One animation → Descript composite & audio optimization
A podcast for a journalist who makes media about media.
Brian Morrissey built Digiday into a media industry standard and became known as the voice of its podcasts, then rode the wave of indie journalists becoming Substack entrepreneurs. He needed a new podcast to expand organic reach and build his real product — a community of affluent listeners and high-ticket intimate events.
Jay approached the design of TRB's podcast soundtrack using analog synthesizers to invoke that era of the past in which we first became fixated on the future. Unlike the "tsunami of content" Brian talked about, TRB's music was 100% original and made by humans.
